Sorry, but I jumped the gun in my last message. Now, we're two weeks out from the the start of camp. My staff begins reporting next Friday, June 9th. Sorry if my last message caused any confusion.
The long awaited Campsite and Meal Time assignments have been posted to the My Camp Grimes website. If you are in either Campsite 6 or 13, please have Scouts bring bed rolls as the adirondacks do NOT have mattresses.
Also, remember that if you have Scouts or adults with dietary restrictions, please fill out the Special Diet form located on the website and send email to the email address provided at least 10 days in advance of your arrival at camp. This will help to insure that we have the right food for those Scouts that have special diets.
Please clear your waitlist before you arrive at camp.
See ya soon!
Alan
Well, we're less than 2 weeks away from Week 1 Day 1! We have opened and/or created as many of the waitlisted classes as possible. If you still have Scouts on a waitlist, please move them off those and into another class.
Campsite and meal times will be out early next week. I will send out a message once they are posted to the website.
The form and email address for Special Diets is now on the website under the parent's section. If you have Scouts that have special dietary needs and are not bringing their own food, please turn in this form 2 weeks prior to your arrival at camp. We can store food if the Scout would rather bring their own food for the week.
Happy Memorial Day weekend, and to those who have served, THANK YOU!

Thank you for your work in cleaning up your MB registrations. We have made a concerted effort to clear wait lists for all 4 weeks of camp. Where feasible, we have created new classes or expanded current classes. It will be up to you to move your Scouts into newly created classes. This may cause you to have to shuffle some Scouts around.
Thanks!
Alan
Good afternoon! Last week I sent a message to all of you asking that you start to help clear the waitlists. Thank you to the few that have done so. Over the next few days, we need you to go in and make sure your Scouts are only registered for one class per session. Please choose whether your Scout is to remain waitlisted for a merit badge or registered to take another badge at that time. Beginning next week, we will start this process for you if you haven't done so already. We will begin by deleting all waitlisted merit badges for Scouts that are also registered for another merit badge at the the same time. If the Scout truly wants a merit badge they waitlisted for, delete the other badge(s) for that time period so we can get a true picture of our waitlist situation. This will help us in the process of either expanding classes or creating new ones.
Also, please make sure you delete Scouts from your camp roster that are not coming to camp. These deletions shoud occur before you make your final payment on May 1st.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Well, the hard part is over now! Over the next couple of weeks we'll start looking at the schedule. The registration day schedule is purposefully smaller than the schedule we'll end up with. By doing that and using a waitlist, we are able to see where the real MB demand is. For, we need you to go back into your MB signups and only register your Scouts for the MB's they really want. You shouldn't have Scouts waitlisted AND registered for another class at the same time. Once you've done this, we can begin our process of adding to or creating new classes. When we are able to begin that process, we will let you know. There may be some shuffling of schedules on your part to get Scouts into the MB's they really want/need. All of this will play itself out by early to mid May. Thank for your patience and persaverance.

Troop merit badge registration begins tomorrow !
In addition to registering your scouts for merit badges, you can also sign your unit up for Wednesday afternoon activities. Click the Sign Up menu item and then look for the button labeled "Wed Troop Activities". For the activities your troop is interested in doing, just enter the number of scouts you plan to bring to the activity and then click the Reserve button.
We have noticed that some of you still have NOT put your rosters in the system yet. If you are having trouble with your roster upload, reach out via text to 704.491.3982.
Thanks! Alan
Happy Hump Day everyone! Friday is our Merit Badge registration kickoff for 2023. We've noticed that some of you still haven't uploaded your rosters to the mycampgrimes.org system. You'll need to do that before your scheduled time on Friday (3/24/23) for putting in your merit badges. On the home page of the website there is a link with instructions on how to upload your roster if you need help loading it into the system. Merit badge registration schedule for Friday is as follows:
Good luck and remember that patience is a virtue.
